Data Validation Lists

Data Validation Lists, or drop down lists as they are also known, enable you to control the values entered into a cell by limiting choices to those on a pre-defined list.

Excel validates that the entry typed into the cell matches an item from your pre-defined list, or you can simply click on the down arrow to select from an item in the list.

CTRL + SHIFT + #

Apply Date Format

CTRL + SHIFT + # will format the selected cell(s) as a date.
